Annual Kubasa Competition – And the Winners are?

The votes were cast by the sold-out crowd of the 300 attendees at Korinnya's annual celebration of Ukrainian music, culture and smoked meat. Everyone in Korinnya would like to congratulate Widynowski, Stawnichy, and Spragg’s Meat shop for winning and placing within their respective categories. The competition was intense, but, in the end, the best sausage reigned supreme.

And the winners are:

Round 1 – Garlic Sausage
First place – Widynowski – Ham Garlic sausage
Second place – Stawnichy – Homestyle sausage

Round 2 - Specialty Sausage
First place – Widynowski – Pure Ham sausage
Second place – Spragg’s Meat Shop – Farmer’s Sausage

Attendees were treated to performances by the Korinnya Ukrainian Folk Ensemble, Polanie Polish Ensemble, the Suzirya Ukrainian Dance Theatre, Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Junior Tryzub, Adult Tryzub and Kalabai Ukrainian Infusion Band. Those that stayed beyond the tasting danced to the unique Ukrainian sounds of Kalabai.
